Unique in Brittany, La Chartreuse is a former monastery of Carthusian monks. The site has been occupied since the 14th century. He witnessed great historical events, such as the Battle of Auray and the landing of Quiberon during the Revolution. Remarkable and extensive, La Chartreuse is composed of a chapel, a cloister, a mausoleum, monk cells and gardens. The cloister exhibits the largest painted cycle of Morbihan. The marble mausoleum, under which lie the bones of the royalists shot in the Field of Martyrs, was carved by the talented David d'Angers.
